Happy Holidays everyone! Join me on an odyssey of dumb jokes, recipes, and… a bedtime story!? On this, the first ever Tokyo Lives Holiday Special! (...forgive the audio issues!)

Rodan Wing Recipe

Wings -

2 Turkey Wings, separated, rinsed and dried.

2 tablespoons of olive oil

Tablespoon of Lemon powder

Tablespoon of Onion powder.

Rodan Sauce -

1 large onion

2 large carrots

3 cloves of garlic

4 habaneros (leave the seeds if you want more heat)

¼ cup of Apple cider vinegar

1 can of Chipotles in adobo sauce

2 cups of crushed pineapple

3 tablespoons of honey

Hey Gang! Post Production Rob here with the recipe for the video you are watching right now. I’ll also post this in the description of the video.

First, make sure to rinse off and then thoroughly dry your turkey wings before coating them in a tablespoon of olive oil and rubbing them with a tablespoon of Onion Powder and lemon pepper.

Then pop them into a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

Now you can work on the sauce!

Start by melting a tablespoon of butter in about 2 tablespoons of olive oil before adding your diced carrots and onions. I used 1 onion and 2 large carrots for this recipe.

Cook these together until the onions are translucent, then add two tablespoons of minced garlic, and 4 habanero peppers. You can add more if you want more heat!

Simmer these together for about 5 minutes on medium low heat before adding your liquids: Apple cider vinegar, the Chipotles in adobo sauce, (add some water to that can to get the rest of the liquid out), 2 cups of crushed pineapple (I only used 1 cup at first but added but the added sweetness of two was perfect), 3 tablespoons of honey… which I added later because it wasn’t sweet enough.

Simmer this for another 5 to 10 minutes and then Blend! You can use an immersion blender like I did here, of just a proper blender.

About 30 minutes should have passed, so make sure to flip the turkey wings before letting them cook for another 40 minutes. This will leave them crispy and crunchy on the outside as long as you are using a baking rack like I am!

Next, take the Rodan Sauce and run it through a strainer to get the pulp out. It took me a while but I ended up getting about 3 cups of liquid out of the sauce, don’t give up!

You want the sauce to coat the back of a spoon, that’s how you will know it is thick enough

Finally, once the wings are done, it’s time to plate!
